It has soft golden sands and incredible clean and shallow waters. The ruins of the ancient Roman city of Falassarna are abandoned at the northern end of the 1km beach. Our advice is to stay there until sunset as it is considered the best in Crete. However, there were some rumours of pollution, which would be a shame and the water is usually pretty wavy.
